Principal's Welcome-A Message from Mrs. Macaluso

Dear ZMS Families,

Welcome to our school community! My name is Mitzi Macaluso and it is a great honor to serve the students, staff, and families of Zionsville Middle School as principal.

Upon graduation from Purdue University I began working in Southwest Allen Schools in Fort Wayne IN. I served as a classroom teacher at Homestead High School. When I became engaged to my husband (Matt) and we started his adventure in law school, I moved and taught special education at Crown Point High School and 7th grade social studies at Ben Franklin Middle School in Valparaiso, Indiana. When he finished law school we moved to the greater Indianapolis area and I joined Zionsville Community Schools. During the 20 plus years that I have served in Zionsville, I have been a 7th and 8th grade social studies teacher, HS special education teacher, school counselors, and assistant principal.  During my time in Zionsville, I attended Butler University to attain my M.A. in Educational Administration and Supervision as part of the EPPSP program.

The Zionsville Community Schools has been my home away from home for 20 years. My son, Merrick, has attended the schools and even had the privilege of having his mom as his assistant principal!  I feel connected to the community and committed to the mission and vision of our schools.

Our hope is that you all feel connected to the ZMS community as we embody our belief that in ZCS Everyone Belongs!

Your educational partner,

Mitzi Macaluso
