ZIONSVILLE MIDDLE SCHOOL ATHLETICS
News from ZMS Athletics!
Girls Golf (6-8th grade)
- Girls Golf tryouts will be at The Range from 4:30-6:00pm Tuesday 8/4 and Wed 8/5. Parents need to transport girls.
Cross Country (6-8th grade co-ed)
- Practices are M-F (starting Aug. 3) from 4:00-5:30pm. Meet after school in the Door 4 lobby
Girls Volleyball (7th-8th grade)
- Tryouts are Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday (if needed), Aug. 3-5 from 4:30-6:00pm in the South Gym. Practices will then be after school until 6:00pm M-F.
Football (7th-8th grade)
- Practice is from 4:00 to 6:00 Monday through Friday starting Aug. 3. Saturday (Aug. 8) is the Jamboree at ZCHS.
Boys Tennis (6th-8th grade)
- Practices begin on Aug. 5 from 4-5:30pm. Practices are M-Th every week thereafter.
Student-athletes must have physicals uploaded on Final Forms and parent/student signature page completed before trying out or practicing!

PARTICIPATION IN 2025-26 ATHLETICS
All athletes participating in ZMS athletics during the 2025-26 school year need a physical dated after April 1, 2025 to be eligible to tryout/participate. The online signature page for both the students and parents also needs to be completed on Final Forms.

FALL SPORTS:

Boys & Girls Cross Country – 6th-8th grade
Open run dates for the summer of 2026 will be held on the course at Zionsville United Methodist Church (north side of the church near the pavilion) from 8-9am on the following dates:
June 15, 17, 19, 22, 24, 26
July 6, 8, 10, 20, 22, 24, 27, 29
WINTER SPORTS:
Girls Basketball – 7th-8th grade
Boys Basketball – 7th-8th grade
Wrestling – 6th-8th grade
Cheerleading – 7th-8th grade
Required Forms:
All athletes must have an IHSAA approved physical form uploaded in Final Forms before he or she may participate in any practice or contest. ALL PHYSICALS MUST BE DATED AFTER APRIL 1 OF THE PRECEDING SCHOOL YEAR. The parent of the athlete, and the participating athlete, must also complete the online signature forms before participation.
School-issued locks
Student-athletes need to purchase a school-issued lock for $7 (checks can be made out to ZMS). The lock can be purchased from myself or from our guidance assistants in the front office area. If the student-athlete cannot remember his/her combination to a lock purchased previously, we can look up that information from him/her.
